I have always had a passion for art and the building industry. As I grew up in Aurora, Colorado, I spent my summers helping my dad on his job sites. He owned a remodeling business with projects ranging from new flooring in a living room to entire home transformations. I loved being on projects with him and watching spaces evolve right before my eyes. I always appreciated the beauty around me and eventually learned to share my view of the world through art. Art became a form of language for me as I expressed myself on canvas. The two came together as I often found myself tinkering with rooms and furniture making them more functional and aesthetically pleasing. When I learned that I could turn my hobby into a career, my mind was set and I started on my path of becoming an interior designer.

In high school, I was an International Baccalaureate student and graduated 3rd in my class with my IB Diploma. My high level course was in visual art, where I studied the emotional properties of color. I then attended college at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona, where I explored my love for design. During my education at NAU, I was fortunate enough to gain some experience. I had the opportunity to work with vendors, architects, and designers, and assisted in projects that were carried out from the drawing table to the grand opening. I gained and applied in-depth knowledge of codes, accessibility, and sustainability. When I graduated, the world of opportunity opened up to me and I have since followed my dreams.

Though my career is just beginning, I have learned so much. I believe the industry is constantly evolving in technology and practice, and therefore have continued progressing in program knowledge with Revit and Auto-Cad. I have gained skills in space planning as well as the development of customer relationships. My knowledge of color and finish selection, lighting options and applications, furniture design, and the design process continue to grow. I'm so excited to see where my career path takes me and look forward to future opportunities.
